Where to Buy Knives at Wholesale Prices

Get a few tips on how to get the most knives for your money!

My personal opinion is that you do not need to spend large amounts of money to get good knives. There are a ton of knife snobs out there, who will not touch a knife if it isn’t over 100 bucks and they really look down on cheap priced knives, no matter how good the quality really is. If you ever have visited a knife forum, you will know what I am talking about. It’s ridiculous and totally wrong in my opinion.

A knife does not cost much to manufacture. What these knife snobs are buying is a name and they are paying for a lot of advertising dollars spend from the manufacturer or dealer. I believe that most $100 knives are manufactured for only a few bucks each. That means that they in reality could be sold by the retailer for less than $10 and still be profitable for everyone in the supply chain.

Take a look at the wholesale knives from Mitech Trading. Don’t let the wholesale part scare you. Everyone can buy from Mitech and over the years it has been my major supplier of knives. The quality is in top and the prices are really cheap. The customer service is top notch as well. Spend a little time browsing through all the knife categories and you will understand what I mean. There are knives of all kinds in various materials. The brands are well known, such as Maxam, Mossberg and Meyerco.

eBay is another great place to find inexpensive knives. You can actually find them at low wholesale prices just like Mitech, but it does not come without a risk. Be sure to read and understand the description. Pay attention to the materials listed, so you won’t get any surprises when you receive the knives. If any doubts, then contact the seller before your purchase. Also make sure the seller has a good rating and check the return policy as well. Many sellers will not let you return the merchandise unless it’s actually damaged. With all that being said, I have found some of my best deals on knives on eBay. Especially if you buy in quantities you can get good deals. This is how you will go about it. Find a seller who are selling many different knives. Find his auctions with the knives you are interested in. You simply go to the seller profile and click the link there will show all of that sellers auctions. Now you copy the urls of the auctions of the knives you want to buy. Then you send him a message asking for the best possible price on all those knives. If you agree on a deal, then he can create a special auction for you.

Next on my list is Amazon, or maybe I should say was. Amazon used to be a great place to find knives from wholesalers. However, they taking a huge fee from the seller, so obviously he have to raise the prices accordingly. You can still find a knife deal here and there, but most likely you will waste your time.

Let’s move on to my next suggested source. Why not skip all the middlemen (most of them anyway) and go straight to the Chinese manufacturer. The site is called Aliexpress.com and here you can buy direct from the manufacturer or at least an overseas distributor. The prices are very good, but you definitely need to pay attention to the reviews. On Aliexpress, you can find knockoffs and styles and shapes not usually found in your own country. Please be aware that if you see a known expensive brand, sold for dollars only, then it is most like a fake product.

The downside with Aliexpress is the shipping. Not so much the cost. Actually many of the knives are shipped free. The Chinese government have made deals with many freight companies, which makes it cheap to chip products overseas. Remember that does not go the other way and the sellers here know that. If you receive a defect product, the seller will most likely ask you to return it. In many cases that means that you will have to pay more for the return shipping than you paid for the actual product. For that reason, when I order from Aliexpress I only order really cheap items, so I won’t have to worry too much if anything is wrong with the product. It’s a calculated risk. The other downside is of course the long shipping time. Expect anywhere from 20 to 70 days for your order to arrive.
